How to multiply decimals when not using models

You multiply it like normal numbers. But when you do, count how many numbers are behind the decimal, say there are 2 numbers behind the decimal, once you finished multiplying the numbers you would add up all the products you got and then put the first 4 numbers you wrote behind the decimal to get the final product.

                   x 7.74                 Always starting from the right side of the equation

                   .5852                go to the left four digits and put a decimal then                  

                  ↑←←←←                just carry the decimal down and you'll  end up with

answer rather than having to add and subtract the measurements of the semi-circle, notice that the semicircle to the left of ad is actually identical in area to the blank semicircle-shaped space to the left of bc. so if we transferred the red semicircle into the blank space, we would end up with a square of side length 24 cm. the area of a square is s^2 = 24^2 = 676 cm^2.
