A busy candy store is going to replace their current gumball machine with a giant gumball machine. The globe on their current
gumball machine is 22" in diameter and its volume is 5,575 cubic
inches. Compared to what has been ordered, the current gumball
machine's volume is 532 cubic inches less than one-fourth the
volume of the globe of the giant gumball machine.
1. Rewrite the formula for the volume of a sphere so that it is solved for r. 2. Use your answer in question 1 and the information given in the scenario to develop a plan that you can use to solve for the volume of the globe on the new, giant gum ball machine.6. Once the new machine is installed the cost per gimbal will be 0.25$. If during the first, 20% of the gimbal in the machine are sold how much money will the candy store earn? 7. Six months after it is installed and filled to capacity, the giant gimbal machine must be emptied for cleaning. At that time the gum balls left in the machine are thrown away. If 83% of the original number of gum balls were sold and the gumballs cost the candy store 0.10$ each, how much money will the store lose when cleaning the machine?
