soo this can be solve by using the formula:

f = p( 1 + i)^ n

where f is the future profit

p is the initial profit

i is the percent increase

n is the number of years

a . f = 30000 ( 1.05)^n

b. f = 30000 ( 1.05)^15

f = $62,368

i think the answer is b x = 1, y = 35/2

except if the answer is in the value of money, then, it will matter. it will have to be $0.40, but i can tell this is not a money question, so .4 should be the right one.
