The Gym Performance Task Carlos wants to join a gym. The gym offers three membership options:
Regular Deal
Pay $50 a month and $2 each time you work out
All-in-one price!
Pay just $100 per month for unlimited use of our great facilities
Pay as you go
Pay only $6 each time you work out
Part One: Write an expression to represent the cost for each gym. (Hint: one of them will have two terms while the others can be written with one.)
Use w to represent the number of workouts and m to represent the number of months in your expressions.
Regular Deal: Pay as you go: All-in-one:
Part Two: Carlos thinks he will go to the gym about 20 times a month. Calculate how much each of these options would cost Carlos for one month.

Which of these options is the least expensive for Carlos?
$ $ $

Part Three: How many visits each month would make the cost of the Regular deal and the All-in-one price the same?
Explain how you figured it out.
Part Three: It costs $300 to join the new Superfit Gym. You then pay $15 each month and $2 each time you work out. Carlos thinks he will use the gym about 20 times each month for a year. Calculate the cost of using Superfit Gym for one year.
How much will Carlos save during the first year if he uses the Superfit Gym rather than the Regular deal at the other gym? Show your work.
