so first you take 1^2 power and it would be 1 so then u add the 1x on to the 12x or 8x from whatever equation ur working on and u would get 13 x or 9x from there u need to get the x isolated from the number without an x so if ur doing number 1 you would do +9 on both sides which would clear the -9 on the left side and add 9 on the right making it 13x = 9
