So, the basic rule is that, the length of the bar added to each figure is always 1 box longer than the last bar in the previous figure.

Thus,

Bar length of 3 boxes is added to figure 2 to get figure 3.

Bar length of 4 boxes is added to figure 3 to get figure 4.

For figure 5, bar length of 5 boxes would be added to give us figure 5 which is the next figure in the sequence.
