Is the order of operation.

Question 1

1/2 + 1/3 is down first (brackets)

Multiply both fractions to get same denominator

3/6 + 2/6

= 5/6

5/6 • 2/5 = 10/30

Answer is 1/3

Question 2

11/10 divided by 22/5 first (division)

11/10 divided by 22/5 is the same as multiplying 11/10 by the reciprocal of 22/5

So

11/10 • 5/22 = 1/4

5/16 - 1/4

Make denominators the same through multiplying the individual fractions

5/16 - 4/16

=1/16

Answer is 1/16
