Five athletes competed in a sporting event. Each athlete competed in their sport on different days and each was a different nationality. The five athletes are all the best but they all compete in different events. For each athlete work out which nationality they were, which event they competed in, and on what day of the week they took part. The clues are: 1. The American athlete competed two days after Prof F, but the day before the
athlete who did the Triple Jump. Dame D is French.
2. Dr M didn’t compete on Thursday, but she did her event before the athlete
who did the Javelin.
3. Lord H is not British. The Triple Jump was not on Tuesday.
4. The event on the first day was the 400metres. The athlete who competed on
the last day was German.
5. Lady W competed two days before the athlete who threw the Discus. The
Australian athlete did well in the Long Jump.
6. Lord H did not take part on Wednesday but he did throw the Discus. Dame D
did not take part on Friday.
