Set (5x+85) equal to (11x+61) because these are vertical angles, meaning they have the same degree value.

5x+85=11x+61
subtract 5x from both sides

85= 6x+61
subtract 61 from both sides

24=6x
divide 6x from both sides

x=4

now for z, as you can see, (5x+85) and z actually create a line! and a line=180 degrees! so if we plug in 4 as the x value

5 (4) + 85 = 20 +85 = 105
180-105 = 75

z= 75
