Mr. Fantasmo has a living, breathing wardrobeβ€”much like Andy's toys in Toy Story. Each article of clothing comes to life when Mr. Fantasmo leaves the house, and Mr. Hat hates being left behind. It spurs Mr. Hat to devise mischievous plans to strike revenge at Mr. Fantasmo. Before Mr. Hat heads off to stir trouble, he says something to Mr. Tie. These clothes speak in code, though, and it's up to us to undress what they're saying. They speak in the language of polynomials and we can decipher what Mr. Hat says by factoring the polynomials that come out of his, err… brim.

We know that Mr. Hat used the following polynomials, numbered 1 – 20. We also have a Polynomial-to-English decoder that assigns a factored polynomial to a letter. It's our (read: your) job to match these numbered polynomials to their factored forms. Once we know which number corresponds with which letter, we can crack Mr. Hat's code.

While we know you're quite the astute student, we'll need you to show your work while factoring these polynomials on a sheet of paper. Once you've matched each polynomial with a letter, write the decoded message below on your paper and upload all your work!

The Message:

15-11-13-7 // 14-16-14 // 7-11-12 // 11-13-7 // 7-12-2-2 // 7-11-12 // 7-16-12?
10-3-8 // 11-13-17-19 // 13-4-3-8-17-14 ; 16-'-2-2 // 19-3 // 3-17 // 13-11-12-13-14.
