To test whether the proportion of students who earn an A in Math 1040 is higher than the proportion of students who earn an A in Biology 1610, SLCC randomly selects 50 students in Math 1040 and randomly selects 50 students in Biology 1610 and calculates the proportion who earned an A. iii. Are the majority of Math 1040 students also studying for a degree in the medical field? To investigave, SLCC surveys a random selection of 64 students taking Math 1040 and asks whether they are studying for a degree in the medical field. iv.
