1. Explain whether the line represents the best fit for the scatter plot data. Use the check-list to help you.
Checklist
1. Identify the association/correlation. Does the line follow the trend/correlation?
2. Does the line go through as many points as possible? Is the line in the middle of the points ?
3. How many points are above the line? How many points are below the line? Is there the same
number of points above and below the line? Recall that a correct line of best fit should keep
the same number of points above and below the line. If it is impossible, then the numbers
above and below the line should be close.
