Use the distributive property
6+(-3)(2x)+(-3)(-4) = (2)(1)+(2)(x)
6 - 6x + 12 = 2 + 2x
Now we need to combine like terms
-6x +(6+12) = 2x +2
-6x + 18 = 2x + 2
-6x -2x = 2 - 18
-8x = -16
x = -16/-8
x= 2
