Help the selection choice is up or down

It's a rocket ship, it's going to go up then down, up being positive height, so the parabola opens down.

We can see that from the coefficient on the quadratic term, here -4.9.   When it's positive we get a CUP, concave up positive, i.e. opening up, vertex at the minimum.  When it's negative we get a CDN, concave down negative, opening down, vertex at the max.
