Matthew is getting ready for a holiday dinner. His mother wants him to pick out something nice to wear. She lays out 3 pairs of pants (blue, black and khaki), 5 shirts (red, white, striped, green and gray) and 2 pairs of shoes (black and tan).
1. Draw a tree diagram or list the sample spaces to show how many outfits he can make.
2. Use the counting principle to explain why you have shown the total of outfits he can make.
3. Circle all the outfits blue pants and a striped shirt.
4. What is the probability that Matthew will wear blue pants and a striped shirt? Express your answer as a fraction in simplest form, a decimal and a percent.
