(30 pts)A radio broadcasting tower is 80 feet high. Cables are attached to the top and anchored to the ground 60 feet from the
base of the tower. What is the length in feet of one cable from the top of the tower to where it is anchored to the ground?
60 feet
Inot to scale)
Step 1: Use the Pythagorean Theorem a2 + b2 = c2 to solve for side "c" which represents the length in feet of one cable
from the top of the tower to where it is anchored to the ground.
Step 2: Substitute the height of the tower and the distance from where the cables are anchored on the ground to the base
of the tower into the equation for "a" and "b" as they are the legs of the right triangle formed by this relationship. 802 +
602 = 4
Step 3: Solve the equation 802 + 602 = c2 for "c". Show or explain your work
