Apple has built a new headquarters in Cupertino, California. Apple released the following
information about the new building:
● The building resembles a circle, as shown in the image below. The building’s exterior walls
(both those facing out and facing in) are made completely of glass.
● The building has a consistent width of about 230 feet.
● A park full of trees will be in the interior of the “circle.”
● A lap around the outside of the building is 4,700 feet.
● The building has 4 floors, and is intended for 12,000 employees to work.

How much glass is needed for the building’s walls (not including any walls inside the
building)? Assume each floor is 10 ft. high. List any other assumptions you make for
unknown information.
