You have probably seen the moon shining in the night sky. Did you know that it is not the only one? It's true! Other planets have moons, as well. Astronomers have studied our moon and the moons of other planets for a very long time. As a result, there is a lot of information that can help you learn about the different moons in our solar system. You can even study moons from your own backyard.

Most of the planets in our solar system have moons. Our planet has only one, but some planets have several. For example, Jupiter has at least 53. Some planets, like Venus, have no moons. While other planets are somewhere in between. This table shows the number of moons that each planet has.

Planet Number of Moons
Mercury 0
Venus 0
Earth 1
Mars 2
Jupiter 53
Saturn 53
Uranus 27
Neptune 13

Which additional text feature would help you understand more about the planets' moons?
