What effect does multiplying a random variable by a constant have on the new probability distribution's PROBABILITIES? Let's say I have "X" as a variable and P(X) . Y is another variable and is equal to 3X. How does the P(Y) differ from the P(X)? What is the numerical relationship between P(X) and P(Y)? Many thanks.
