Ok this is a long one, so any help would mean the world, even if you only do part of it.
You have been hired by the famed chocolate makers āChocolat du Mondeā to develop the best possible package to ship their world famous mint truffles. Each square cm of the golden cardboard they use costs $0.03. They need to send a shipment of 10,000 cm3 of truffles and want to spend the least amount of money possible on packaging. They would like you to design three different boxes and then find the necessary information to help them decide on the best one.
Draw out the nets of three different prisms or solids. Each one should take up one page of paper. You can either sketch it on graph paper(to hand in) or sketch it online. Measure all the lengths necessary to find surface area and volume using cm (be sure that the solid you choose is one of which you know how to calculate these). **If you feel that cutting out the net and assembling it will help you out, you may do so, but it is not necessary. I would use some type of hard stock paper if you plan to do this. ** Calculate the surface area of each solid and use that to find out how much the cardboard would cost for each box. Then calculate the volume that each box would hold and determine how many of each box would be needed to make the entire shipment. Finally, determine what the final cost of shipment for each of the boxes would be and make your recommendation on which they should use to cut costs and save the most money. Show your work on a separate page and write your recommendation to āChocolat du Mondeā in a paragraph on the next page. Then answer the reflection part of how you used your math practices
