After x months Nita would have had:   18 + x*5 =  18 + 5x,  y =  18 + 5x,

Solving the equation:

y = 30 + x,  y =  18 + 5x

30 + x = 18 + 5x

x - 5x = 18 - 30

-4x = -12

x = -12/-4

x = 3,      So after 3 months they would both have equal number.

System of equations:  y = 30 + x,   y =  18 + 5x,      will have same number after 3 months.
