Show that in using the two-phase simplex method, whenever an artificial variable becomes nonbasic, we can remove it from the current simplex tableau (i. e., delete the corresponding column in the simplex tableau, and continue the simplex method on the reduced simplex tableau), and still obtain the same conclusion at the end of Phase 1 as if we keep this artificial variable until the end of Phase 1.
