When, we talk about the unit rate or the unit price of the product we take into consideration parameters like cost  per liter,per kilogram,per pound .The Unit rate does not talk about the quality of the productThe concept of "Best buy or Better Deal " is a qualitative approach .It talks about parameters like price,delivery,customer satisfaction, etc in other words is the product purchased able to meet the customer expectation

Lets consider an example of unit rate/Unit price

10 pencils for Rs.4.00, or

6 pencils for Rs.2.70 ?

Here is the Unit Cost:

Rs 4.00 / 10 = Rs.0.40 per pencil

Rs 2.70 / 6 = Rs.0.45 per pencil

So the lowest Unit Price (and the best bargain) is 10 pencils for Rs.4.00

Here we do not focus on the quality of the pencil purchased,we only concentrate over the lowest  price that is offered.
