4 students are assigned to give presentations. how many different ways can the teacher order the student presentations?

The first presentation can be given by any one of the 4 students.
Then the second presentation can be given by any one of the remaining 3.
Then the third presentation can be given by either one of the remaining 2.
Then the 4th presentation has to be the 1 student who's left.

So they can give their presentations in

                     (4 x 3 x 2 x 1)  =  24 different orders.
