The king has sentenced a criminal to following punishment. abox
intially conatins blak balls and one white ball. on theday of
sentencing, the criminal draws a ball at random. if the ballis
white, the punshment is over and the crimal goes free. if the ballis
balck then two things happen:
i) the criminal is force to eat a live toad and
ii) the balck ball drawn is painted white and returned
tobox.
this process is repeated on successive days untill thecriminal
finally draws a white ball. let x be the number of toadseaten before
the punishment ends.
