Substitute (2) in (1):-

7x + 20x + 90 = 36
27x = 36 - 90
27x = -54
x = -54 / 27
x = -2
Substitute x = -2 in (2)
y = 2x + 9
y = 2 (-2) +9
y = -4 + 9
y = 5
