6. a particle of mass 1kg is initially 1 metre to the left of the origin and is moving to the left with speed 10m/sec. it is moving along the r axis under the influence of the following forces: (i) an attractive force towards the origin which is 8 times the position of the body; (ii) air resistance which is 6 times the velocity of the body; (iii) the force due to gravity; (iv) the normal force; (v) and the force due to friction, which has coefficient u = 48 you may assume that the acceleration due to gravity is g = 9.8 m/sec. (a) draw a diagram and clearly indicate the direction of each force. (5 marks] (b) find the magnitude of the normal force. then write down the equation of motion in the a direction and the corresponding initial conditions. [5 marks] note that you are not asked to solve the initial value problem.
