The gcf of any 2 odd numbers is always odd but why?

This is because an odd number can only be divided by 1 and itself.

This leaves no room for the product of the factors to be be even since we know that;

the product of odd numbers is an odd number.

6 × 4.3 = 6 × ( 4 + 0.3 )

            =   (6 ×   4) + (6 ×   0.3)

            = 24 + 1.8

6 × 4.3 = 25.8
