What function is an example of exponential growth

Exponential growth functions are the functions that normally take the form 
y=ab^x
where:
a=initial value
b=growth rate
x=time
An example of situation that takes this form is the population growth of a particular group say and organism. 

You can find the area of a rectangle by multiplying the length and height. so multiply 1/2*7/4(which is the simpler version of 1 3/4) and you get 7/8 as your answer.
