In the United States, journalists have “freedom of the press,” according to the First Amendment. What do you think this means? On a scale of 1-10, how important do you think this is for a democracy? Explain your answer.

freedom of the press means that the press can say what they want about higher up people like the president or the government or people that are basically of a higher level than them and on a scale to 1-10 moderated at 10:00 because they would probably be laws against this if we didn't have this in the first amendment you'd probably get jail time or a serious punishment and I think people should be able to say what they want and not go into the whole freedom of speech thing but I think just because it's on paper it's a different thing
