celebrates several national holidays dedicated to Americans who have positively impacted the
country. For your lesson assessment, you will write a letter to the president about a citizen you
believe deserves a national holiday. You should write about a citizen who has influenced
change in American society and inspires you. In your letter, explain the methods the individual
used to influence change, why he or she was motivated to work for change, and how his or her
actions changed society.
