A lawyer is representing a husband in divorce proceedings. The lawyer prides himself on helping divorcing couples get through the divorce process as amicably as possible, and has had great success doing so in the past. The wife's divorce attorney, on the other hand, is known for aggressively representing his clients' interests to get them the largest possible award. The parties held negotiations, and the husband's lawyer was doing his best to deal with the wife's combative attorney, who was become nearly impossible to deal with. During a recent meeting with his attorney following negotiations, the husband became extremely emotional and stated that he had no interest in getting a divorce and just wanted to reconcile with his wife. The lawyer felt that this provided an opportunity to use his skills and, with his client's approval, immediately phoned the wife at home. He explained that she should speak one-on-one with her husband, who still loved her and wanted reconcile. Moved by the attorney's words, she agreed and told the lawyer to send her husband over to talk. The following day, the couple reconciled and the wife withdrew the petition for divorce.
