Entering Freeway:

For entering Freeway Colorado, following are guidelines:

Entrance Ramp is the key first guideline to enter freeway. The route number and direction details are given in freeway entrance sign. The other guidelines that one should look after are acceleration lanes and merge areas.  Driver should pull over as soon as a message displays, “DO NOT ENTER or WRONG WAY”. Follow the speed limit wherever you find sharp curves and ensure safe speed. Look out for Ramp signal color, which are either in green or red. While red alerts you to make a complete halt, green instructs that only two cars should be passed per green light. While one is in entrance lamp, ensure the acceleration at safe speed close the freeway traffic and check for opening. To merge into freeway, turn on signals immediately and view your mirrors and shoulders before merging into freeway.

Exiting Freeway :

Following guidelines should be followed while leaving freeway:

Reduce speed in deceleration lane prior to reaching exit ramp Activate blinker before leaving interstate and maintain same speed as interstate and slow down gradually to the posted speed after entering the exit ramp completely.  Never make a last second turnoff in case if you’ve missed exit. Instead, look out for turnaround in the subsequent or next exit ramp.
