What were two things that greatly the women's rights movement during the 1960s?

The resurgence of feminism in the United States brought changes enacted by the 1960s feminists; they inspired unprecedented changes in the society with far-reaching economic, social, political and cultural consequences. 
The second wave of feminism in remembered after, Betty Friedan most famous works, The Feminine Mystique published in 1963 that is seen as the beginning of the Women's Liberation Movement. 
Second, are the conscious raising groups that were a grassroots revolution and a "backbone" of the feminist movement. The groups adopted a civil rights tenet to "tell like it is" and encouraged storytelling to spotlight sexism and use the groups' power to offer support and solution for change. In 1964  the civil rights act was passed, it prohibited the discrimination in employment by sex.
Protests, rallies, hearings, marches, legislative sessions and, sit-ins took place along the streets that gave them the voice with the media.
