Reagan faced a heavy recession period and tried to combat it with what was known as the "Reagan Revolution." His economic policies tried to reduce government spending, reduce federal income taxes, reduce regulation, and reduce inflation. He had a saying: "Government is not the solution to our problem, the government is the problem." That is why he considered that free market would help to solve the economic situation.

then once you find a topic you like find out how it affected the people of america and what not. (sorry if this feels a bit short changed, history was and never will be one of my strong topics)
