Corroboration is what actually leads to a higher level of credibility, when you can support your ideas with other authors and experts this enriches any theoretical framework, but when you can actually corroborate in a different scenario what you are stating based on a strong and deep analyzed bibliography, you can then intend to elaborate a theory, which can be ultimately conceptualized as the creation of new knowledge.
