William Lloyd Garrison was an American journalist, abolitionist and social reformer well known for his abolitionist newspaper “The Liberator” launched in collaboration with Isaac Knapp in 1831. He published it until the termination of slavery by constitutional alteration in 1865. “American Slavery Society “ was established by him that promoted the emancipation of Slavery in the United States.

He was a pioneer of the Bible and his early days can be marked by constant reading and praying of Bible and because of it, he was biased against all fixed forms of worship, authority of human government and belief of binding of spirit. When he turned 25, he joined the slavery movement and became a member of “American Colonization Society”. Being an abolitionist he was aware of the power the media and extent of Influence it can bring to politics and so he founded a weekly anti-slavery newspaper “Liberator”.
