Prior to the state of World War II, Nazi Germany negotiated appeasement policies with the European nations, this included the Munich Agreementment between Germany, England, and France which allowed for small territories of Czechoslovakia to be annexed to Germany.  Initially, Hitler was pleased with the diplomatic victory, though this was not the end goal, and he soon violated this agreement by invading the remainder of the country with military personnel.
