In his arguments in brown v. board of education, the lawyer for oliver and linda brown claimed that “separate but equal” public schools were neither separate nor equal. separate but not truly equal. equal but not truly separate. both separate and equal.

In the argument, it is stated that separated, equal public schools (one for african americans, the other for whites) were not equal, due to the superior education that was given to those in the school not meant for black children, yet not separate because the children, no matter the color of their skin, got along and befriended one another. they would walk each other to school then part ways, so the two schoolings were neither equal nor separate.  hope this a little
