What strategy worked well for the colonists in fighting the british during the american revolution?

Guerrilla warfare worked well. The British fought the “manly way” by standing in lines. Traditionally, men lined up on both sides and shot at each other with hopes of hitting the opponent when there’s many shots at them. This was done traditionally because guns were inaccurate and by lining up they could hit more enemies when shooting together. Americans fought the British with guerrilla warfare. They’d hide in trees, bushes, etc. They’d shoot, run to a new vantage point, shoot again, and so on. The British were also fighting in American land, so the Americans were knowledgeable about the surroundings therefore giving them more advantages to an enemy who knows not about the terrain.
