Explain how the legislative branch has checks on the three branches of government.

The main way in which the legislative branch has checks on the three branches of government is that it can check the executive branch by overriding presidential vetos of legislation, and it can check the judicial branch by denying appointment of Supreme and federal court justices. It acts as a check on itself in that the Senate and House operate separately.
