This happened more and more when manufacturers realized it would be cheaper to trade or import materials instead of make them. Many people were affected by the shift. Industrial factories and businesses caused for several jobs in cities. Some benefits to less industrialization includes: less burning of fossil fuels in America, less harmful work places, and cities' populations would eventually mediate and cities wouldn't be as crowded. Some consequences would be: less jobs, the economy falters, and the US became more dependent on imports and on other countries.
