Asia minor (Anatolia) is the westernmost protrusion of Asia, which makes up the majority of modern-day Turkey.

The Ottoman empire was created by turkish tribes in Anatolia that grew to be one of the most powerful states in the world during the 15th and 16th centuries. Regarding this information, it is fair to say that the Ottoman empire comprised the center of Asia Minor during its time.

At its peak, the empire extended into the gates of Vienna, Greece and some parts of Ukraine.
