China has a larger male population than female population because

China has 33 million more men than women in 2014.This was due to many social beliefs and some government policies.This is primarily due to selected abortions, abandoning of baby girls and the social belief that male child is an asset, girl child is a liability - a general belief in South Asia. The gender ratio at birth is still dangerously high in China with 115.88 boys born to every 100 girls in 2014 compared with a global average of 103 to 107.The country's family Planning Restriction and one child a family policy adopted by the Government are the main reasons for such a situation.The one-child policie actually allow for the gender bias in favor of boys, says experts. Consequently there will be a lot of men who will never find a mate in life, especially the economically poor young men in China. So the insatiable sexual thirst of young men may result in public unrest and social disturbance says experts. China with its strong economy should have gender balance to sustain it. The Government of China is adopting some measures in this direction.
