What cabinet department promotes international trade?

Although a few cabinet departments have the ability to promote international trade, the main responsibility falls on the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Department of Commerce's main role is to create an environment to promote job creation and economic growth by ensuring fair and secure trade between states and countries. The Department has thousands of employees who are located in more than 80 countries to aid this effort.
