Earliest in the Colonies Britain profited with the Colonies with Commerce, Britain sold glass, linens, hardware, machinery and other goods. Also, the Southern colonies exported some goods like tobacco, rice, and indigo and offered those goods for Britain.

Later the population of the Colonies started to rise and a class of merchants rose and many British products were sold in the colonies such as cloth, iron utensils, window glass. Sugar and Slaves were also very profitable and the American colonies at the end paved the way for industrialization in Britain.
