The doric, ionic, and corinthian styles of columns were developed by the ancient greeks in the centuries b. c.e. respectively.

The Doric was most commonly used in the 7th, 6th, and 5th, centuries respectively. Of course, their use overlapped but these three centuries were common for the three styles. Doric was the earliest, followed by Ionic, continued by Corinthian.
