Explain why jewish leaders became angry with jesus. what event in the life of jesus is the basis for christian beliefs.

There are so many reasons they wanted to kill Jesus. He was performing miracles.
---John 5 : Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath. The Jewish leaders seek to kill Jesus because of his declaration that he is the Son of God. 
---John 6:1–14; Mark 6:30–44. Jesus miraculously feeds more than 5,000 people.
---John 6:22–71. Jesus declares that he is “the bread of life” and that those who believe in him will have everlasting life. Many reject this teaching, but Peter and the other Apostles remain with Jesus.

“See him—close up?” asked the uncouth Athenian.

“Crazy?” persisted the Athenian. …
“No.”
“King?”
“No,” muttered Demetrius …, “not a king.”
“What is he then?” …
“I don’t know,” mumbled Demetrius …, “but—he is something more important than a king.” 

It really wasn't just one thing that Jesus did it was really him, himself. The Jews believe that the savior has not come yet but any who believe other wise know for certain through faith and testimony that he is the savior. The Jews wanted him dead because they could not handle the real truth.
