The Paris Peace Conference was the meeting in 1919 of the Allies after the armistice to agree the conditions of peace with the countries of the Central Powers: Germany, the Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria, Austria and Hungary, the latter two as representatives of the disappeared Austro-Hungarian Empire. The allies began their negotiation work with each other on January 18, 1919 under the direction of the Committee of Four: Wilson, Clemenceau, Lloyd George and Orlando, although those who really led the negotiations were the first three.
