What was the difference between the first continental congress and the second continental congress?

The first continental congress was trying to have a peace treaty with the British Crown. They thought that they'd be able to resolve their problems with words. However, when this proved unsuccessful, they called for the second continental congress, that's where they declared war on the British and where they declared independence.
